Renegade Vault Tec 111 Scheme

Annnnd, here's the other Renegade.  It was hard to choose what theme to paint it in, so I went with an old standard.  I had a Vault Tec decal, so I cut it in half and put one part on each side.  Maybe if you twirl it, it will read vault tec at the same time.

No special techniques here really, except for a variation of something I had done before.  I had originally done a 2-layer peel of the paint for the stenciled stuff, with metal, the base color, and then the decal color all being visible at different points.  With this one, I laid down the stencil with a little bit of taping for the first layer of chips. Then I sprayed a thin layer of yellow.  Then I taped more little spots so some of this thin layer would be visible. Then I painted yellow heavily over in multiple passes.  What this did was make chips where only the outer layer of the yellow was peeled away.  It looked nice, but I didn't really capitalize on it since I only did one of the 111s that way, and I didn't do too much detailing to bring out the effect.  Next time....next time...
